Ecotherapy

Ecotherapy walks with Pembrokeshire paths

Ecotherapy is a term used to describe the general health benefits received when you are participating in walking events.

Well here we have it.  In a simplistic way this is Ecotherapy.

General health can be significalntly improved when people take part in regular walking exercise.  There are the obvious physical benefits received when someone undertakes regular exercise but there are other benefits which are not so obvious.

Taking part in organised walking groups along Pembrokeshire paths can also provide the opportunity to be open to other health promoting factors.

Walking in the countryside, along costal paths and hill tops usually offers a fresher and more iinvigorating breathe of air.

The natural and inspirational landscapes that Pembrokeshire brings can also uplift.  Then there are the sounds to think about, just the song of the skylark or the running brook, little traffic noise, little industrial noise.  Now that is therapy, difficult to bottle but natural and free.

Then there's the social and counsel. We are all social animals in one way or another and we enjoy getting out meeting and making friends.  Walking is the great way to do this.

Often the best way to deal with our personal worries is to talk them through with friends.  Maybe when out walking with friends there may be the opportunity to share some of your concerns.

Join onto the  group and make and meet friends and share interesting events and times.

I hope that this simply explains what Ecotherapy is and Pembrokeshire paths will be planning walking retreats in 2008 which will incorporate and amplify the benefits of Ecotherapy walking holidays.
