Day one – Friday 16th May – Cardi Bach( 12 miles)
Leave Cardigan heritage centre 10:00am.
Our journey begins at the estuary at Cardigan and we will follow along redundant Cardi Bach railway tracks and the Teifi gorge to Cilgerran. The fairy famed Frenni Fach leads to Crymych and we can join in with the celebrations of the Drovers Festival.
Day two – Saturday 17th May – The Preseli Hills (11miles)
Leave Crymych mart 10:00am
Foel Drygarn draws us to the Golden Road, an ancient trading route across the hills.
The mystery of the Preseli Hills unfolds bringing memories of ancient peoples and prehistoric sites, of King Arthur and the Mabinogion. The Bluestone quarry fills us with awe, provoking thoughts of time and of existence.
Our day finishes with a gentle climb over Foel Eyri ( the hill of the eagle ) and a chance again to join in with local festival celebrations during the evening.
Day three – Sunday 18th May - The Gwaun valley – (12 miles)
Leave Tregynon entrance 10:00am
We will follow through ancient woodlands and descend down into the secluded and mysterious Gwaun valley, hearing strange stories of Gwaun folk and how St Brynach contemplated upon Carningli - the mount of angels. The peacefulness and timelessness of the valley offers balm to our soul before our return home. The spectacular marine walk at Fishguard town caps a journey truly worth making.
You are invited to join us for the full 3 day walk or just join in for 1 or 2 days. Return transport will be provided at the end of each days walk.
Please note that this is a challenging 3 day walk so please come prepared. You will need enough drink and food, sturdy footwear and waterproofs just in case.
