Ecotherapy walks with Pembrokeshire paths

Next walk >> to be arranged.

Andrew is again facilitating a walking group that will offer an encouraging and supportive environment for those who have suffered mental distress.   The group is currently being run as a voluntary group and is open to anyone who feel that they may benefit from the health benefits of a social countryside walk .  The clinical term for the therapeutic benefits of countryside walking is Ecotherapy.

Unfinished work..walk

Andrew and friends first commenced their social walks back in 2000 with the ambitous idea to walk around Pembrokeshire and the Pembrokeshire Coast path but to complete a full circle around Pembrokeshire.  The idea was to start in Narberth at our friend's front door and to walk full circle around Pembrokeshire and to finish at his back door.

We took it a step at a time and the first day we walked along the Knights way, Narberth to Amroth. Numerous friends joined  as we progressed along the Coast path walk and we took a different section to walk each week.  Foot and mouth set in and the momentum for the walk diminished. Individual circumstances changed and the walk was put on the shelf at Strumble Head with a note " to finish ".

It now looks that the time to finish this walk has arrived and our supportive social walking group wil soon be pushing homewards from Strumble Head towards Narberth step by step.

Please wear sturdy footwear, waterproofs just in case and enough liquid until lunch.
